Talk about accident prone.....

Well, were off to the vets again. This time Niamh was attacked by a fox we think. Alan was walking her on Wednesday afternoon when she shot off through the undergrowth. Alan waited for her and then he heard her scream, yes scream. he crashed through the undergrowth looking for her and finally found her limping and frightened. He managed to walk her home and gave her a bath because she stank to high heaven. She was shaking so much he covered her up. Hence when I walked in I thought she was dead........my heart stopped. But she lifted her head and I could breath again. Alan explained what had happened. I examined her as much as I could and whisked her off to the vets having found several puncture wounds and cuts. She needed antibiotics and painkillers as a minimum. Michael from the Tadworth surgery was excellent. He reassured us that she had gotton off lightly. The fox no doubt had tried to take her down by attacking her belly and had it been successfull Niamh would have been dead from loss of blood. Her poor belly was red raw and she yelped anytime Michael went near her. After a few staples to her side and some medications he pronounced her fit to go home.

To top it all that night, having calmed her down and got her comfortable, she bit me as I went to kiss her good night. She was still so traumatised from the events that I couldn't blame her but it shocked me so much I got upset and had to go outside for a cigarette (and I gave up smoking some time ago!!!) I can only assume that she thought I was going to hurt her so it was self defence and that's what she'll stick to if questioned by the canine assult squad. I can't blame her as I think I would have done the same under the circumstances.

Here are some pictures

Going from strength to strength

Sorry all. It's been a while since I posted.

We've managed to slip in a holiday to Cornwall again - the dog didn't come this time so I didn't have to stress about her running off. No I just had to fret about her being with my mum for a whole week. We took Ed (my bruv) and his wife Jane. We had only 1 day of rain so that was not too bad. We all had a good break and unwound. Alan found a small treasure whilst out walking

It was in a small cave off of Crantock Beach.
It is lovely and has the profile of a woman's face beside it. Alan worried that someone had been buried there but we all reassured him that it was unlikely. Having done some checking it seems to be the work of one Joesph Prater, a Crantock local
It apparently was carved in the 1900. It's amazing what you can discover if you just open your eyes.

When we got back the dog was fine and had settled with mum and dad better this time. I really had nothing to worry about, still didn't stop me but hey ho there ya go.

Alan has also managed to finish the fishpond (hallelujah!!!) The fish love it and Niamh thinks she has got the biggest water bowl going, shame to dissapoint her but we had to put a net over it to make sure the Heron's don't nick our precious stock.

Sans Fish - but I put them in not long after

Talking of the baby (Niamh) I am pround to report that she now has fully settled in and not only growls at any visitors we may have, but she has taken to making our bed her home whilst we are out. I came in the other day to find the duvet all bundled up in a heap in the middle of the bed. Ahhh, I thought, my baby has been making a nest. Then I saw the great big muddy paw prints all over the sheets. Needless to say we now have a cover over the duvet to capture the muddy paws of a morning. Got to save my best M&S duvet covers from distruction.

The broad in the bed is me!!!
Not a morning person me

"General" with Daniel when he was only 8

What a posh overcoat

The mighty "General"

Now you may remember me telling you about Alan's previous greyhound "General" well I want to share some photo's of the mighty man so you can compare him to my little girly.

I'm not guilty, honest.........

Alan has been suposedly reported missing in action, whilst constructing the new fish pond.
Reports that I'd done him in for taking so long are grossly unjust!!!!
Now where did I put that concrete LOL
